It is cheap, personalisable and provides a fruitful ROI of $42 dollars per $1 spent.

So, now you know that email is definitely the way to go, how do you create emails that are clear, concise and persuasive? Video can be a natural and comfortable form of communication for many sales professionals, not to mention the time-saving benefits for customers. Whilst many sales professionals may have the gift of the gab, translating that into a written email can be difficult. With that in mind, we’ve provided our very own tried and tested BDC email templates, out of the box and ready to go, but don’t forget to include a video for extra impact. Each is designed for a different situation and customer. Now, let’s explore our top automotive BDC tips and sell some cars.

Email Example 1 – The ‘Short and Sweet’ One

Sometimes, short and sweet is all you need. Most customers are time-poor and want information quick. Use this template to provide the right, useful information, without the rambling.

Hi [NAME],

I noticed that you’re interested in the [VEHICLE MAKE AND MODEL]. It’s a great car with [POINT OUT SINGLE, STAND OUT QUALITY OF VEHICLE]. Check out the video to see for yourself.

I’m on hand to answer any questions you might have, so please feel free to reach out to me on [PHONE NUMBER].

Best regards,

[SIGNATURE]

Email Example 2 – The ‘Detailed’ One

Providing all the vehicle details the customer can need can be a great way to reduce their time trawling through websites and brochures, getting them to the ‘ready to purchase’ stage sooner. Whilst detail can be good, stay clear of insignificant, long-winded details that can lose a customer’s attention.

Hello [NAME],

I’m pleased to hear that you’re interested in the [VEHICLE MAKE AND MODEL] we have here at [DEALERSHIP NAME].

It’s a popular model and for good reason. The vehicle includes [STAND-OUT QUALITY 1] and [STAND-OUT QUALITY 2].

I’ve included a video and pdf of all the vehicle info, just in case you’d like a quick browse. If you fancy a test drive or want to pop in to kick the tires, please feel free to give me a call on [PHONE NUMBER].

All the best,

[SIGNATURE]

Email Example 3 – The ‘Helpful’ One

Creating a tone that is helpful and not pushy makes you more approachable and likeable, which is vital when it comes to car sales. Millennials, in particular, dislike pushy sales techniques, so this example is particularly effective for younger customers.

Hi [NAME],

How’s your car search going?

I noticed that you’re interested in the [VEHICLE MAKE AND MODEL] and just wanted to check in to see if you need anything from me?

I’ve included a video and PDF with all the vehicle details, just in case you wanted them to hand.

Feel free to give me a call on [PHONE NUMBER] if I can be of any assistance.

Kind Regards,

[SIGNATURE]

Email Example 4 – The ‘Grab A Deal’ One

It’s no secret that people love a bargain, especially when it comes to high value purchases like cars. Sharing details on your latest offers is a great way of grabbing attention. Just make sure you include a deal expiration date, to create a sense of urgency.

Hi [NAME],

I just wanted to personally reach out and make you aware of a great deal we’re currently offering on [VEHICLE MAKE AND MODEL] at [DEALERSHIP NAME].

[INSERT DEAL DETAILS OR COUPON]

The deal expires on [DATE], so feel free to give me a call before then if you’re interested, so I can ensure you don’t miss out. My direct number is [PHONE NUMBER].

All the best,

[SIGNATURE]

Email Example 5 – The ‘Service Reminder’ One

A service reminder should be a subdued and friendly check-in. Now isn’t the time to showcase your latest stock or tell them about a deal they’re missing out on.

Hello [NAME],

It’s been almost a year since your vehicle’s service, so I wanted to reach out and check how you’re getting on with your car. Are there any problems or noises that you’ve noticed?

Please let me know if you’d like me to schedule a service, at a time that is convenient for you. You can reach me directly on [PHONE NUMBER].

Best,

[SIGNATURE]
